The Iowa Secretary of State’s Office, along with the Iowa Council for the Social Studies and several other civic minded organizations, is encouraging our school to participate in a statewide straw poll before the 2016 Iowa Caucus.
The resource page on the Caucus 101 website has introductory videos from each presidential candidate, addressing their message directly to Iowa students. This is a useful tool to inform students about each of the candidates. There are also two short videos on how each party’s caucus is run on that resource page. The 2016 Iowa Caucus website has links to all of the candidates who have filed a bid with the FEC and formally declared their presidential run.
We will be voting the week of January 18-22 and you are encouraged to vote for your preferred candidate in both parties, Republican and Democratic. Mr Ehlers will send another email the morning of January 18 with a link to the google form. You will have until the end of the school day on Friday to respond.
