General Announcements @FMHighSchool:

  • Students and teachers: please find time in your busy schedules to complete this survey sometime before March 31, 2017.  The input will help our IT department determine the effectiveness of technology in our school.  Thanks!
  • FMHS will be taking Iowa Assessments on Monday and Tuesday.  Testing will begin promptly at 8:15 AM.  A few things to remember:
    • Testing for owa Assessments will resume on Monday and Tuesday of next week.  Regular classes will begin at 10:15 Monday & Tuesday.
      • Schedule for Monday & Tuesday:
        • 8:15-10:10 AM – Iowa Assessments
        • 10:15-10:58 – Period 1
        • 11:02-11:45 – Period 2
        • 11:45-12:10 – A Lunch
        • 11:49-12:30 – B TST
        • 12:14-12:55 – A TST
        • 12:30-12:55 – B Lunch
        • 12:59-1:42 – Period 3
        • 1:46-2:29 – Period 4
        • 2:33-3:16 – Period 5
    • Seniors should not report for classes until 10:10 on Monday & Tuesday.
    • If you wish to use a calculator on the math assessment on Monday you must provide and bring your own to the assessments.

Activities @FMHSActivities:

  • Good luck to the girls and boys basketball teams and  as they travel to Washington this evening to take on the Demons.  Games start at 4:45 PM.
  • Best of luck to the freshmen girls basketball teams tomorrow morning as they host the Chargers of Illini West.  Tip off is 10:00 AM in the Hound Dome.
  • Good luck to the varsity boys basketball team as they travel to the KHQA Shootout at Quincy Notre Dame High School tomorrow evening.  The Bloodhounds will take on the Saukees of Pittsfield, Illinois at 6:00 PM.
  • If you are a male and interested in participating in track, you may sign up in the main office at Ms. Wiseman’s desk.  There will be a meeting on Monday, 2/13/17 in the MPR at 3:30 PM.  Practice will begin on Tuesday, 2/21/17.

This Day in History:  1959 – Rising American rock stars Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and JP “The Big Bopper” Richardson are killed when their plane crashes in an Iowa corn field near Mason City.


Fact of the Day:   Though very young at the time of their deaths, Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and JP Richardson already had numerous record hits, including “Peggy Sue”, “Oh, Boy!”, “Maybe Baby”, “Early in the Morning”, “Chantilly Lace”, “Come On, Let’s Go”, “Donna”, and “La Bamba”.
