Student Government there is a meeting on Thursday, May 19th at 7:00 AM in the band room.
Drivers Education this summer will be offered through Triple R Driving School. Two summer sessions are available and are currently open for registration. Registration forms are available in the HS front office and guidance department. Students and families eligible for free or reduced tuition should indicate that on the registration form they send in. FMCSD Maintenance Department is searching for summer helpers. If you are interested in working in the electrician/plumbing field this may be a great position for you. You will work Monday – Friday and pay is $8.00 an hours. Must be at least 16 years of age. Contact Kevin Moon 319-372-7252 ext 1014 or firstname.lastname@example.org if interested.
Students who have suffered a loss may want to attend The Climb, a workshop to help youth overcome loss. This workshop is open to youth ages 8-15. It will be held on Saturday, May 21st from 1-4:30 PM at the Great River Hospice House Lower Level Conference Room. If you are interested in attending this workshop then you need to register by calling 319-768-3350.
Ladies who are 16! Would you like to meet new people, make new friend and act as an official Old Threshers Reunion Hostess? Then you should compete in the Old Threshers Reunion Miss Sweet 16 pageant. There will be an information meeting on Saturday, June 4th at 2:00PM. For more information call 319-385-8937
This is a reminder for all you young men that are turning 18. As a young man in the United States you must register with the Selective Service System. You can register at http://www.sss.gov. Stop by the guidance office if you need more information.
Do you like to sing? Do you like to have fun? Do you have your own dance to Uptown Funk or Gangnam Style? If you answered yes to any of these, Swingspan Show Choir is the group for you. Come sign up for an audition just outside of the music department. Choreography practice will take place during 1st and 2nd lunch on May 16-17 and auditions will take place on May 18-20th.
Students who will be Juniors and Seniors next year, if you are interested in either the Dual Welding or Dual Carpentry programs at FMHS through SCC, applications are available in the Counseling Office. Students must return applications to the Counseling Office by May 26th.
