Students The Daily Democrat is now accepting nominations for the Teacher of the Year Award. Forms are available in the guidance office. Nomination forms must be returned to the guidance office by Friday, May 13th.
Student Sunny Brook is looking for volunteers to help with Bingo and other fun activities they do with the residents and community. If you would like to spend time with folks that have a lot to offer young people then give Amanda a call at 372-8611.
The YMCA is looking for students to umpire youth baseball and softball games this summer. Games will start the first week of May and go through June 23rd. Pay is $15 per game. Contact Alli Thompson at firstname.lastname@example.org or 319-372-2403 ext 2 if you are interested.
Fort Madison Community Hospital is offering a program called FMCH Health Care University this summer for students interested in the medical field. The program is designed to expose students to different career opportunities available and includes 5 educational sessions where students will hear from a variety of personnel at the hospital. Students even get the chance to go through an abbreviated orientation that every new hospital employee completes prior to starting. If interested, please come to the guidance office to pick up the application. Applications are due to the hospital by May 13th.
