Iowa Safe Schools is sponsoring a conference for students on April 29th in Des Moines. The mission of the Annual Iowa Governors Conference on LGBTQ Youth is to a) engage and educate students, educators, parents, community leaders, youth-serving professionals, policy makers, and others concerned about issues relevant to the LGBTQ community, and b) encourage networking and activism to inspire our communities to promote diversity, equality, and social justice. Mrs. Kohl would like to take a group of interested students, parents, and/or teachers to this conference. Please see her if you would like to sign up. Deadline to sign up is March 20th. The cost is $30 for students and $70 for adults. Scholarships are available for students to help cover that cost.
