SHOW ME THE MONEY! Because there is no school for students next Monday, instead of tutoring, the Elliot Test Kitchen will be offering assistance to Seniors with scholarship applications to optimize your awards! You do not need to have an application for the Test Kitchen on file but you DO need to sign up with Mrs. Kohl. Session will begin at 3:30. There are limited slots available and it will be first come, first served.
Attention Junior Class: The Officers and I wish to meet with you on Tuesday, January 19th at 7:45 am. We need to discuss prom ideas and need your input. Though we have ideas, we would like your help. Before we know it Prom will be here. It is scheduled for Saturday, May 14th. Please plan to attend and plan on attending other meetings as well. We typically meet on Tuesday mornings, but may have to meet after School if needed. We cannot do this without all your help. – Ms. Hotop
All students interested in the shooting sports. The Clay Crushers will be holding an informational meeting tonight in the high school MPR at 6:00 pm for all students that are current members or that are interested in learning more about the team. 2015 season Varsity Letters will be handed out along with the upcoming seasons information.
Attention Individual Event Speech Team: If you have signed up for the team, but have not yet selected your area, see Mr. Harmon this week! The areas will be given out on a 1st come basis. Also, practices will begin this week. Sign up for practice times in room 301. The District IE Speech contest is now 6 weeks away.
Iowa Safe Schools is sponsoring a conference for students on April 29th in Des Moines. The mission of the Annual Iowa Governors Conference on LGBTQ Youth is to a) engage and educate students, educators, parents, community leaders, youth-serving professionals, policy makers, and others concerned about issues relevant to the LGBTQ community, and b) encourage networking and activism to inspire our communities to promote diversity, equality, and social justice. Mrs. Kohl would like to take a group of interested students, parents, and/or teachers to this conference. Please see her if you would like to sign up. Deadline to sign up is March 20th. The cost is $30 for students and $70 for adults. Scholarships are available for students to help cover that cost.
